Academics

It is important for us to hone our children’s passions, so that we can prepare them for a successful future through learning.

AlphaMax prepares students to be part of a bigger picture!

Eugene Merkus

Our students are challenged to embrace an approach and lifestyle which supports the harmonious growth of body, mind, and spirit; to see the growth of character through the acquiring and cultivation of sound, positive, classic, foundational skills and habits as essential to their education; and to adhere strictly to the dress and moral codes of the school community.  Our choices and selection of activities – such as the Academy’s Youth Challenge program, our practice of yoga and tai chi – reflect a thoughtful concern to forge a new middle course in Suriname in our rapidly changing, increasingly interdependent world.

Learning and Curriculum

Our curriculum is recognized by the Ministry of Education in the Republic of Suriname, and our diplomas have been positively evaluated and internationally accepted.

Our primary program is alive with energy, excitement, and inspiration. We offer programs for children starting at 3 years of age.

Our middle school community offers a diverse learning environment made up of students from grades 6-9.

From grades 10-12, the program in the higher levels covers the spectrum of traditional disciplines prior to graduation.

Moderated from Shanghai, the Global Assessment Certificate (GAC) Program ensures that students are well prepared for the rigours of post-secondary education.

Students in school are prepared to write: Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) | Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) | Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) | ACT Examination
